Review (summary): Union is in collusion with school district administration

Review (complete): The Redwood City Teacher's Association is affiliated with the California Teacher's Association. The don't represent the interests of all the teachers, only a select group who belong to the “good old boys network” who are in collusion with the district administration. They don't honor the concept of seniority, instead hold interviews for “open” positions, but when you attend the interview, you are told that the position has already been filled. When they do fill a position, it is frequently with a teacher who is relatively new to the district, with no prior experience at that grade level whose child attends that particular school over a teacher with seniority, who had previously taught that grade whose test scores went up. Talk about favoritism. That teacher eventually vacated the position after teaching that grade level for a short time.
